The Episcopal Commission for Biblical-Catechetical Animation of CNBB has announced an extension until Friday, September 28, for the submission of information requested by the Dicastery for Evangelization regarding adults seeking to enter the catechumenate.

This initiative aims to gather information that will help better understand the reality of adults who seek the Church to begin the process of Initiation into Christian Life. The requested data includes age range, religious background, and other aspects related to the catechumenal journey.

Each diocese, archdiocese, and prelature received a letter with guidelines and a specific link for filling out the form. CNBB requests that particular churches that have not yet submitted their responses verify the received communication and complete the form by September 28.

Along with the correspondence, a link to access the survey form, consisting of three questions, was provided. The gathered information will help the Dicastery obtain a more accurate overview of the reality of the adult catechumenate in particular churches.

The Commission's advisor emphasizes that the participation of all is important for the survey to broadly reflect the reality of the adult catechumenate in Brazil. The focus of the survey is specifically on adults who express a desire to enter the catechumenate, with the request having been forwarded by the Dicastery for Evangelization. This was presented to bishops and diocesan administrators via a letter sent on July 14, signed by the president of CNBB and the president of the Episcopal Commission for Biblical-Catechetical Animation.
