On October 5, 2026, a reflection centered around the Gospel of Luke 10:25-37 was presented. The parable details an encounter between Jesus and a lawyer who inquired about inheriting eternal life. Jesus prompted the lawyer to summarize the law, to which the lawyer responded by stating one must love God with all their heart, soul, strength, and mind, and to love neighbors as oneself. Jesus affirmed his answer, telling him to act accordingly to gain life.

The dialogue continued with the lawyer seeking clarification on who qualifies as a neighbor. Jesus illustrated this through the parable of a man attacked by robbers. A priest and a Levite passed by the injured man without helping, while a Samaritan showed compassion, tending to the man’s wounds and ensuring he received care at an inn, promising to reimburse any additional expenses incurred.

The reflection emphasized the contrasting attitudes of indifference displayed by the priest and Levite against the Samaritan's willingness to help. It encouraged individuals to see themselves in the various roles presented in the parable, confronting the reality of their own actions toward those in need. The Good Samaritan serves as a model for kindness, urging people to reject violence and indifference in favor of peace and mutual support.
