In Romania, a church congregation witnessed a Bible video in sign language that communicated the birth of Jesus, created by a member of the deaf community named Emma, who was involved in translating, memorizing, and filming the video. Emma felt profoundly moved while watching the video during worship.

A pastor who adopted a deaf boy initially taught the Bible in spoken and written Romanian, but the boy's responses were less than enthusiastic. However, when shown a video of Jesus calming a storm in sign language, the boy reacted with excitement and appeared to grasp the content. Through connections with a translation team, the family was introduced to a local deaf church, fostering a community where faith could grow together.

Simply handing over a written Bible is not sufficient. For individuals whose first language is sign language, a written Bible may not be the most comprehensible form. Therefore, it is essential to deliver the message in a way that the reader understands. Deaf individuals are not merely recipients of aid; they are also bearers of the Word and contributors to building the church.

Faith begins with hearing. Hearing is realized through the words about Christ, as stated in Romans 10:17.

There are people distanced from the gospel due to language barriers, who are in need of assistance. Small considerations for these individuals can serve as tangible steps to loving one's neighbor. The joy of knowing and following the Savior should not be hindered by language barriers.

Prayers are requested for the deaf community in Romania, that those involved in sign language Bible translation may be granted wisdom and patience to convey the message accurately. It is hoped that fellowship in learning the Word will flourish, allowing both children and adults to come to know Christ.
