Vatican: Sister Nathalie Becquart leaves Synod Secretariat

On Friday, October 30, Léon XIV appointed two new under-secretaries for the General Secretariat of the Synod, for a term of five years. Jesuit Giacomo Costa, special secretary of the synodal assembly from 2023-2024, replaces Luis Marin de San Martin, who was appointed in March to lead the Dicastery for the Service of Charity. Roman Salesian Elena Massimi, a theologian, liturgist, and musician, succeeds Sister Nathalie Becquart, who has held the position since February 2021.
