# Three-quarters of Urker youth read the Bible daily, but do they understand what it says?

More than half of the Urker youth have made reading the Bible after meals a daily habit. A local newspaper examined the Bible reading behavior of students on Urk. The students from two Christian secondary schools were surveyed about their Bible reading habits.

A total of 665 students from Pieter Zandt Urk, a Reformed school, and Berechja College, a general Christian school, participated in the survey. Among them were 353 girls and 306 boys aged between 11 and 18 years. Six students did not disclose their gender.

The newspaper reports that the majority of the youth read the Bible daily. Specifically, 507 students, which amounts to three-quarters of the respondents, read the Bible every day. The survey aimed to gather insights on how frequently and when students engage in Bible reading.
