Three perpetrators of church attack arrested, resulting in 9 deaths
The Jordanian Public Security Directorate reported that three men, wanted for three days, were hiding in an abandoned house. The detainees ignored calls to surrender, resisted armed arrest, and sustained injuries during the operation. No special unit officers were harmed, it was noted. Authorities secured firearms and ammunition at the scene.
According to a statement, the apprehended attackers belonged to a group that "departed from religion, customs, and morality," thus they "met a just fate at the hands of security forces."
The terrorist attack occurred on October 23 during a memorial service in Hamud village in Karak province in western Jordan. Armed with automatic weapons, the attackers opened fire on Christian worshippers.
