# Sunday Reflection for October 25, 2026

On October 25, 2026, Christians observe the Thirtieth Sunday in Ordinary Time. The Gospel reading from Matthew 22:34-40 recounts a moment when the Pharisees, having heard Jesus silence the Sadducees, gathered together.

One of the legal experts tested Jesus with the question, "Teacher, which commandment in the Law is the greatest?" Jesus replied, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.

This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets."
