# Saint Faustyna Decided to Enter a Convent

Saint Faustyna decided to enter a convent after experiencing a spiritual vision and receiving a divine instruction.

Her parents, Stanisław and Marianna, initially opposed her decision. They told her that she would go nowhere. Her father claimed he could not afford the dowry required by the order, but he also wanted her to take over the family farm because he viewed her as his successor and the best among her siblings.

Following this opposition, she initially ignored the call of grace and sought distractions in worldly entertainment. She wrote in her diary that the constant calling of God was a great torment during this period, which she tried to silence in every possible way.

While attending a festival at Venice Park with her sisters and a friend, she was asked to dance by a young man. During the dance, she saw a vision of a suffering Jesus with a face like that of the way of the cross and a body covered in wounds. She heard him ask how long she would make him suffer and how long she would lead him astray. This experience caused her to stop dancing and leave the group without a word, claiming she had a headache.

She then went to Saint Stanislaus Kostka Cathedral, which was located two kilometers from the park. There, she prayed before the Blessed Sacrament for a sign. She heard the words of Jesus telling her to go immediately to Warsaw to enter a convent.
