# Jerusalem City Seeks Partnership with Christians

The city of Jerusalem is establishing a new forum aimed at improving cooperation with Christian communities. This initiative, led by the mayor, aims to enhance coexistence and address grievances faced by Christians in the city. The forum will also focus on educating children and finding ways to combat harassment.

The forum, under the leadership of Mayor Mosch Leon, seeks to strengthen the dialogue and collaboration between the city and its Christian communities. Leon stated, "Zero tolerance for violence against anyone. We share a common fate," during the forum's inaugural session on Wednesday, as reported by the city administration.

Ensuring the safety of every resident is a key priority. Participants in this partnership forum include leading representatives of Christian communities as well as officials from the city administration, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Israeli police. The forum is guided by Michal Bar-Asher Siegal from the Jewish People Policy Institute.

The forum aims to address tensions, incidents, and emerging crises in real-time, ensuring rapid and coordinated responses from all relevant stakeholders, according to Bar-Asher Siegal.

Additionally, the forum has set four specific goals, including biannual meetings between the city and Christian communities, establishing working groups and direct communication channels for effective problem-solving, promoting legislative changes to facilitate prosecution for attacks and harassment, and developing educational programs that portray Jerusalem as a city of diverse religions, cultures, and communities.
