# Cardinal Aveline discusses future of Christianity

Cardinal Jean-Marc Aveline spoke on October 1, 2026, at the cathedral of Lausanne regarding the future of Christianity. He described it with three words: ambiguity, perplexity, and responsibility. The Archbishop of Marseille emphasized a vision of the Church focused on resistance to everything that harms human dignity and on hope in a God who comes to humanity.
