# Belgian journalist went undercover in church and encountered manipulation, exploitation, and abuse

A journalist, aged 28, attended a service at Go Church in Antwerp, where newcomers were asked to step forward. Alongside fifteen teenagers and young adults, he had to repeat the words of the ‘bishop,’ which turned out to be a confession of faith. The investigation revealed instances of manipulation, exploitation, and abuse within the church setting.

The journalist's undercover work aimed to uncover these practices, highlighting significant concerns regarding the treatment of vulnerable individuals in the congregation. The findings raise questions about the church's influence on its members and the potential for coercive dynamics.

This investigation follows broader discussions about the role of evangelical churches in society and their impact on young people seeking guidance and community.
