Should Christians Always Stand with Israel?

With the United States and Israel working as allies in the present conflict with Iran, Christians from many nations may find themselves asking afresh how we, as Christians, are to think of the modern nation-state of Israel. In view of Old Testament promises, New Testament expectations, and our common spiritual ancestry, should Christians always support Israel?
